Miele
Battery Capacity Loss / Protection Trip
Vacuum turns on but shuts off after a few seconds with no error code, especially on high power
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Aged lithium-ion battery with reduced capacity, Battery overheating, Internal battery imbalance, Excessive load from clogged filters
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery if it feels hot to the touch and allow it to cool.
- 1. Reduce load: Clean all filters and check for blockages in the floorhead and wand. A restricted airflow increases load on the battery and motor.
- 2. Test on lower power: Run the vacuum on a low or medium setting. If it runs significantly longer, the battery may no longer support high-power operation.
- 3. Fully charge and retest: Charge the battery to 100% and test again. If run time remains very short, the battery is nearing end of life.
- 4. Replace the battery: Purchase a genuine Miele replacement battery pack compatible with your cordless model.
