Possible Causes
Excessive load from heavy debris, Partially blocked nozzle or hose, Worn motor brushes (on brushed models), Failing MOSFET on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before clearing blockages or opening the housing.
- 1. Reduce load: Avoid picking up large chunks of debris that can jam the nozzle. Use a wider nozzle or pre-clear large pieces.
- 2. Inspect for partial clogs: Even small obstructions can increase load. Remove the nozzle and hose and check for buildup at bends and joints.
- 3. Clean filter: A partially clogged filter increases motor load. Clean or replace the filter element.
- 4. Check motor condition: If the vacuum surges or pulses even with clear airflow, the motor or control PCB may be failing. Inspect for burning smell or visible arcing (brushed motors).
- 5. Replace worn components: Replace the motor assembly or control PCB if current limiting activates under normal load.
