Possible Causes
Battery self-discharge below usable level, Corroded battery contacts, Stuck motor from dust or corrosion, Moisture ingress into electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Inspect for signs of water damage or corrosion before use. Remove the battery.
- 1. Charge battery: Place the M18 battery on a Milwaukee charger and allow it to fully charge. If the charger rejects it, the pack may be too deeply discharged or damaged.
- 2. Clean contacts: Clean battery and tool contacts with a dry cloth or contact cleaner designed for electronics.
- 3. Check for corrosion: Open the housing (if out of warranty) and inspect for rust or corrosion on the motor shaft and PCB.
- 4. Free stuck motor: If the motor is stiff, gently rotate the fan by hand to free it. Do not force it; if it remains stuck, replace the motor assembly.
- 5. Replace damaged parts: Replace any corroded wiring, PCB, or motor components as needed.
