Possible Causes
Hair wrapped tightly around brush bar causing friction, Blocked airflow causing motor to overheat, Failing motor windings, Foreign object stuck in floorhead
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum immediately, remove the battery, and allow the unit to cool. Do not continue using it until the cause is found.
- Inspect brush bar: Remove the brush bar and clear all hair and fibres from the ends and bristles.
- Check for blockages: Inspect the wand, floorhead, and bin inlet for obstructions.
- Smell source: After cooling, smell near the floorhead and near the motor exhaust separately to identify where the odour originates.
- Replace faulty part: If the smell is strongest at the floorhead, replace the motorised floorhead. If it is strongest at the main body exhaust, the main motor is likely failing and should be replaced by a technician.
