Cordless vacuum will not power on, battery LEDs flash once then go dark

Safety first: Disconnect the battery pack from the vacuum. Do not attempt to open the battery pack casing; lithium-ion cells can be dangerous if punctured or shorted.

• Check charger and outlet: Plug the original Morphy Richards charger into a known-good wall outlet. Confirm the charger's indicator light comes on.
• Reseat the battery pack: Remove the battery pack from the handheld unit (press the release tabs) and firmly reinstall it to ensure the contacts are fully engaged.
• Attempt a long charge: Place the vacuum on the charging dock or connect the battery directly (depending on model). Leave it on charge for at least 3–4 hours even if LEDs do not immediately light. Some BMS boards need time to recover from deep discharge.
• Inspect contacts: Check the metal contacts on the battery and in the handle for corrosion or burning. Clean gently with a dry cloth; do not use liquids. If contacts are bent, do not force them—this requires part replacement.
• Test with another battery (if available): If a second compatible Morphy Richards battery works normally, the original battery pack is faulty and should be replaced.
• Do NOT bypass protection: Never try to jump-start or bypass the BMS. If the pack will not recover after a full charge, replace the battery pack.
