Possible Causes
Blocked filters restricting airflow over motor, Overfilled dust bin, Failing main motor with increased friction, Faulty thermal sensor on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery. Allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before further use.
- Empty and clean: Empty the dust bin completely. Clean the cyclone shroud and bin seals.
- Clean all filters: Remove pre-motor and post-motor filters. Tap off dust and, if allowed by the manual, rinse under lukewarm water. Let them dry for at least 24 hours before refitting.
- Check for blockages: Inspect the wand, floorhead, and all air paths for clogs. Remove any obstructions.
- Ventilation check: Ensure the motor exhaust vents on the handheld body are not blocked by dust or being covered by your hand during use.
- Test on low power first: After cooling and cleaning, test the vacuum on the lowest power setting. If it runs longer without E5, gradually increase power.
- Persistent overheating: If E5 returns quickly even with clean filters and clear airflow, the main motor or temperature sensor may be failing. Continued use could cause permanent damage; seek professional service or replace the main motor assembly.
