Possible Causes
Faulty Morphy Richards charging dock or power adapter, Damaged charging contacts on battery pack, Open circuit in charging harness inside handle, Failed charge control circuit on battery BMS PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the charger from the mains before inspecting contacts. Do not use damaged chargers or cables.
- Verify mains power: Plug another device into the same outlet to confirm it works.
- Inspect charger and dock: Check the charger cable for cuts or kinks. Ensure the dock is not cracked and that its LED indicator behaves as described in the user manual.
- Clean contacts: Wipe the metal charging contacts on the dock and on the battery/handheld with a dry cloth. Remove any visible corrosion or debris.
- Direct charge (if supported): If your model allows direct charging of the battery pack, remove the pack and connect it directly to the charger. If it charges this way, the dock or handle contacts are faulty.
- Test with another charger: If you have access to a compatible original Morphy Richards charger, test with it. If the vacuum charges normally, replace the original charger or dock.
- Persistent E6: If E6 remains with a known-good charger and clean contacts, the battery BMS or internal charging harness is likely faulty. Replace the battery pack first; if the fault persists, the handle/control PCB may need replacement by a technician.
