E7
Morphy Richards
Battery Temperature Out of Range
Cordless vacuum displays E7 and runs only on low power, turbo mode disabled
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Battery pack too hot from recent use, Battery pack too cold (stored in garage or car), Faulty NTC temperature sensor in battery pack, Poor thermal contact between cells and sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to cool or heat the battery rapidly (no freezers, ovens, or direct heaters). Extreme temperatures can damage cells.
- Allow to reach room temperature: Remove the battery pack and leave it indoors at room temperature (15–25°C) for at least 1–2 hours.
- Avoid heavy use immediately after charging: Let the battery rest for 15–20 minutes after a full charge before using turbo mode.
- Check storage conditions: Do not store the vacuum or battery in very hot (loft, car in sun) or very cold (unheated shed) environments.
- Retest: Refit the battery and test again. If E7 clears and turbo works, the issue was environmental.
- Persistent E7 at normal temperature: If the error appears even when the battery is at room temperature, the internal temperature sensor or BMS is likely faulty. Replace the battery pack with a genuine Morphy Richards unit.
