Possible Causes
Broken trigger spring, Worn microswitch under trigger, Cracked trigger lever, Misaligned trigger linkage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from charger and ensure the vacuum is off.
- Step 1 – Inspect trigger feel: Squeeze the trigger and note if it clicks. A missing click usually indicates a failed microswitch or broken mechanism.
- Step 2 – Open handle: Remove screws from the handle area and carefully separate the halves to expose the trigger mechanism.
- Step 3 – Check spring and lever: Look for a dislodged or broken return spring and any cracks in the plastic trigger lever. Replace damaged parts if available; otherwise, replace the entire handle/trigger assembly.
- Step 4 – Test microswitch: Use a multimeter to test continuity across the switch terminals while pressing the trigger. If there is no change in continuity, replace the microswitch.
- Step 5 – Reassemble: Refit all parts, ensuring the trigger properly engages the switch. Test operation before fully tightening all screws.
