Possible Causes
Lack of lubrication on end bearings, Worn plastic bearing surfaces, Misaligned brushroll, Debris in bearing seats
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Power off and disconnect from charger.
- Step 1 – Remove brushroll: Detach the floor head, open the cover, and remove the brushroll.
- Step 2 – Clean ends: Remove hair and dust from the end caps and bearing areas.
- Step 3 – Lubricate lightly: If the design allows, apply a tiny amount of light machine oil to metal bearings. Do not over-lubricate or get oil on the bristles or belt surfaces.
- Step 4 – Replace if worn: If the bearings are oval, cracked, or still squeal after cleaning, replace the brushroll assembly.
