Possible Causes
Debris caught in brush head, Small objects in motor fan, Loose screw inside housing, Worn brushroll bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and disconnect from charger. Do not run the vacuum while it is making severe grinding noises.
- Step 1 – Isolate source: Run the vacuum briefly and listen to locate whether the noise comes from the brush head, wand, or main body. Stop immediately after identifying the area.
- Step 2 – Inspect brush head: Remove the motorized head, open the bottom cover, and remove the brushroll. Look for stones, screws, or hard debris inside the housing and around the brush ends. Remove all foreign objects.
- Step 3 – Check brush bearings: Spin the brushroll ends by hand. If they feel rough or grind, replace the brushroll assembly.
- Step 4 – Inspect main body: If noise is from the body, open the housing and inspect around the motor fan for debris. Remove any objects carefully with pliers.
- Step 5 – Test: Reassemble and test. Persistent grinding from the motor area after cleaning indicates worn motor bearings; replace the motor assembly.
