Possible Causes

Hair or string wrapped around brush bar, Foreign object lodged in floor head, Worn brush bar end bearings, Damaged brush drive belt or gear

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before working on the floor head.

  • Remove brush bar: Open the access panel on the floor head (latch or screws) and lift out the brush bar.
  • Clear obstructions: Cut away hair and string with scissors, taking care not to damage the bristles. Remove any foreign objects from the brush chamber.
  • Check end caps: Spin the brush bar by hand. If it feels rough or seized at the ends, the bearings may be worn and the bar should be replaced.
  • Inspect drive system: If accessible, check the belt or gear drive for damage or missing teeth.

Reassemble the head and test. If the jam icon returns immediately with a free-spinning brush, the brush motor or head PCB may be faulty.
