Battery Pack Protection Trip / Undervoltage Lockout
Vacuum will not power on; battery LEDs flash briefly then turn off

Possible Causes
Depleted lithium‑ion battery pack, Battery management system (BMS) protection latched, Faulty battery pack temperature sensor, Defective battery pack PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the charger from the mains before handling the vacuum or battery. Do not open the battery pack casing; Panasonic lithium‑ion packs are not user‑serviceable.
- 1. Verify battery charge: Place the vacuum on the genuine Panasonic charging dock or connect the OEM charger. Confirm the charger LED turns on and remains steady. Allow at least 3–4 hours of uninterrupted charging.
- 2. Check charger and outlet: Plug another device into the same outlet to confirm power. Inspect the charger cable and plug for damage, kinks, or burn marks. If the charger LED never illuminates, suspect a faulty charger.
- 3. Reset BMS protection: Remove the battery pack from the vacuum (if detachable). Leave it disconnected for 10–15 minutes, then reinstall and attempt to power on. Some Panasonic cordless models require the battery to be seated firmly until a click is heard.
- 4. Inspect battery contacts: With the battery removed, visually inspect the gold or nickel contacts on both the pack and the vacuum handle. Clean gently with a dry, lint‑free cloth. Do not use liquids or abrasives.
- 5. Test with alternate battery (if available): If you have another compatible Panasonic battery pack, install it and test. If the vacuum powers on normally, the original pack is defective and should be replaced.
- 6. When to stop: If the pack becomes hot, swollen, or emits odor, discontinue use immediately and contact an authorized Panasonic service center. Do not puncture or dispose of the pack in household trash.
