Possible Causes
Blocked floor nozzle, Clogged extension wand or dust path, Severely clogged pre‑filter, Failing motor fan assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the vacuum off and remove the battery pack before inspecting the nozzle or filters.
- 1. Check for blockages: Remove the floor nozzle and extension wand. Look through the wand and inlet for debris (hair, paper, pet toys). Use a straight, non‑sharp object (like a wooden dowel) to gently push out obstructions.
- 2. Inspect the brush head: Flip the motorized nozzle over. Remove any hair or threads wrapped around the brush bar. Many Panasonic heads have a removable brush roll cover—release the latches or screws, lift the cover, and pull out the brush bar for thorough cleaning.
- 3. Clean filters: Remove the dust cup. Take out the pre‑filter and HEPA or exhaust filter. Tap gently over a trash bin to remove dust. If the manual allows, rinse the pre‑filter with lukewarm water only and let it dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling.
- 4. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the filters, dust cup, wand, and nozzle. Refit the battery and test on the lowest power setting first. If E02 no longer appears, the issue was a blockage or restricted airflow.
- 5. Persistent E02: If the vacuum still shuts down quickly with E02 and there are no blockages, the motor may be drawing excessive current due to internal wear. At this point, contact Panasonic service for motor assembly diagnosis and replacement.
