Possible Causes
Hair or string wrapped around brush bar, Foreign object jammed in floor nozzle, Worn brush roll end bearings, Overheated nozzle motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off the vacuum and remove the battery pack before working on the brush head.
- 1. Remove the floor nozzle: Detach the motorized head from the wand or main body.
- 2. Access the brush roll: Release the side cap, latch, or screws holding the brush cover. Lift off the cover and remove the brush bar.
- 3. Clear obstructions: Cut away hair, threads, and fibers with scissors, taking care not to cut the bristles. Check both ends of the brush bar and the nozzle cavity for trapped debris.
- 4. Inspect bearings and end caps: Rotate the brush bar by hand. It should spin freely. If it feels rough, seized, or melted, the bearings or end caps are worn and the brush bar assembly should be replaced.
- 5. Check the nozzle air path: Look for blockages in the nozzle throat where it connects to the wand. Remove any debris.
- 6. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the brush bar and cover, ensuring it is seated correctly. Reattach the nozzle, refit the battery, and test on low power. If the brush spins without error, the jam is resolved.
- 7. Persistent E04 with free‑spinning brush: The nozzle motor or internal overload switch may be faulty. Replacement of the motorized floor nozzle assembly is typically required.
