Vacuum's dust sensor indicator (if equipped) never changes, always showing clean or always dirty
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Dirty optical sensor window, Faulty dust sensor LED or photodiode, Disconnected sensor wiring, Sensor calibration drift
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning internal sensor areas.
- 1. Locate dust sensor: Refer to the manual; it is often near the air path in the main body or nozzle.
- 2. Clean sensor window: Use a soft, dry cloth or cotton swab to gently wipe the clear plastic window over the sensor.
- 3. Test with dusty area: Reinstall the battery and vacuum a visibly dusty patch. Observe if the indicator changes.
- 4. If indicator remains stuck: The sensor or its circuitry is likely faulty. Functionality of the vacuum is usually unaffected; sensor repair requires PCB replacement if desired.
