Brushroll makes a rattling or grinding noise, especially on carpets; may stop intermittently.

Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the nozzle before working on the brushroll.

• Step 1 – Remove brushroll: Open the nozzle base and lift out the brushroll.
• Step 2 – Clean end caps: Remove hair and debris from the end caps and bearing areas. Spin them by hand to check for smooth rotation.
• Step 3 – Inspect shaft and housing: Look for wear grooves on the shaft or damage to the nozzle housing where the brushroll sits.
• Step 4 – Replace brushroll: If bearings feel rough or seized, replace the entire brushroll assembly with the correct Princess part.
• Step 5 – Tighten screws: Ensure all nozzle screws are tight to prevent rattling.
