Possible Causes
Damaged cyclone to bin gasket, Cracked dust bin, Missing or misfitted rubber seals, Warped filter housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before disassembling the dust bin and cyclone.
- Step 1 – Inspect dust bin and cyclone: Remove the bin and cyclone assembly. Look for visible cracks, especially around the mounting points and seals.
- Step 2 – Check rubber gaskets: Examine the circular gasket between the cyclone and bin, and any seals around the filter housing. Ensure they are clean, not twisted, and free from tears.
- Step 3 – Clean and reseat: Wipe seals with a dry cloth and reseat the cyclone and bin firmly until they click. Make sure no debris is trapped between mating surfaces.
- Step 4 – Replace damaged parts: If gaskets are flattened, torn, or missing, replace them or the entire bin/cyclone assembly with genuine Princess parts.
- Step 5 – Test suction: Reassemble, insert the battery, and test suction. If E18 persists and whistling continues, inspect the main body housing for cracks or loose joints that may require professional repair.
