Battery Overtemperature Protection
Vacuum shows E12 and the LED ring flashes red; unit feels unusually hot
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents around battery, Using vacuum in very high ambient temperature, Internal battery cell failure causing heat, Faulty battery temperature sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: If the battery is extremely hot to touch, remove it carefully and place it on a non-flammable surface away from flammable materials.
- Allow cooling: Remove the battery and let it cool to room temperature. Do not place it in a refrigerator or freezer.
- Check vents: Inspect the battery casing and vacuum body around the battery compartment for dust buildup blocking cooling slots. Clean with a dry brush or compressed air (short bursts).
- Avoid heavy use in hot environments: Use lower power modes if operating in hot rooms or direct sunlight.
- Test after cooling: Once cool, reinstall the battery and test. If E12 appears again quickly under light use, the battery’s internal sensor or cells may be failing. Replace the battery pack.
