Possible Causes
Severely unbalanced cells, Internal BMS protection latched, Cell failure, Battery pack impact damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not attempt to open or repair the battery pack. Damaged lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous.
- Remove from charger: Disconnect the battery from the charger or vacuum.
- Visual inspection: Check the battery casing for cracks, swelling, or signs of impact. If any are present, do not use the battery again.
- Try a reset cycle: Leave the battery disconnected from both charger and vacuum for at least 30 minutes, then place it on the original Progress charger. If the charger immediately indicates a fault or the vacuum still shows E15, the pack is likely permanently disabled by the BMS.
- Replace the battery: Obtain a new, genuine Progress battery pack. Dispose of the old pack at an approved battery recycling facility.
