Possible Causes

Faulty Hall sensor in digital motor, Loose motor feedback wiring, Damaged control PCB motor driver, Debris affecting motor rotor sensor area

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Remove the battery before opening the motor housing. High-speed components can be dangerous.

  • Check for debris: Inspect the motor inlet and surrounding area for foreign objects that could interfere with the rotor or sensor.
  • Listen for abnormal sounds: Run the vacuum briefly (battery installed) and listen for scraping or irregular whine, which may indicate internal motor damage.
  • Internal inspection: Access to the Hall sensor and rotor is limited and not user-serviceable on most Progress motors. If wiring to the motor appears loose or damaged, the entire motor assembly should be replaced.
  • Replace digital motor assembly: Persistent E19 almost always requires replacement of the motor unit or control PCB by a technician.
