Possible Causes
Clogged main air path, Blocked floor nozzle brush, Seized motor fan in digital motor assembly, Shorted motor windings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery pack before clearing blockages or accessing the brush roll.
- Check for clogs: Detach the dust bin, extension tube, and floor nozzle from your Progress cordless vacuum. Look through the wand/tube, inlet neck, and nozzle channels for blockages (hair, paper, debris). Remove any obstructions using a long brush or flexible rod.
- Inspect the brush roll: Flip the floor nozzle over. Remove the brush roll cover (usually secured by clips or small screws). Pull out the brush roll and remove hair, threads, and fibers from the bristles and end caps. Ensure the brush roll spins freely on its bearings.
- Check the motor inlet: With the dust bin removed, inspect the motor inlet grille for compacted dust. Gently clean with a soft brush; do not poke hard objects into the motor.
- Test again: Reassemble the vacuum and run it without the floor nozzle (motor only). If E2 no longer appears, the issue was a blockage or brush overload. If E2 persists even with all accessories removed, the motor or control PCB may be drawing excessive current.
- Service recommendation: Persistent E2 with clear airflow paths indicates a failing digital motor assembly or control PCB. These should be replaced by a service technician due to high-speed components and precise balancing requirements.
