Possible Causes
Overheated battery pack, Battery pack below safe voltage, Faulty charger, Defective BMS temperature sensor in battery
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: If the battery is swollen, leaking, or extremely hot, do not use it. Isolate it and contact a recycling center or service provider.
- Allow the battery to cool: If you have just used the vacuum heavily, remove the battery and let it cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before attempting to charge again.
- Check the charger and dock: Inspect the Progress charger and docking station for damage, frayed cables, or bent contacts. Ensure the wall outlet is working by testing another device.
- Clean charging contacts: Wipe the contacts on the battery and dock/charger with a dry cloth. Ensure there is no moisture or corrosion.
- Try a different outlet or charger: If you have another compatible Progress charger, test with it. If E6 clears, replace the original charger.
- Persistent E6: If the error remains with a known-good charger and after cooling, the battery’s BMS or temperature sensor is likely faulty. Replace the battery pack; if a new pack also shows E6, the charging circuit in the vacuum body or dock may need professional repair.
