Motorized Floor Nozzle Overload / Brush Roll Jam
Brush roll stops spinning and the display shows E7 while suction continues

Possible Causes
Hair or string wrapped around brush roll, Jammed brush roll end bearings, Faulty brush motor in floor nozzle, Damaged brush motor drive belt or gear
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery before working on the floor nozzle.
- Remove the floor nozzle: Detach the motorized floor head from the wand. Flip it over to access the brush roll.
- Open the brush cover: Release the locking tabs or remove screws to lift off the brush cover. Carefully pull out the brush roll.
- Clear obstructions: Cut away hair, threads, and fibers from the brush bristles and especially from the end caps. Ensure the brush roll spins freely when rotated by hand.
- Inspect the drive system: On some Progress nozzles, the brush is driven by a small belt or gear train from a brush motor. Check for a broken belt, stripped gears, or melted plastic around the drive end.
- Check the brush motor: With the brush roll removed, briefly power the vacuum (battery installed) and see if the brush motor shaft spins. If it does not move or makes grinding noises, the brush motor assembly is likely faulty and the entire floor nozzle or motor module should be replaced.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the brush roll and cover, then test on a low-pile surface. If E7 persists with a freely spinning brush, the nozzle’s internal PCB or motor is failing and requires replacement.
