E8
Progress
Wand / Nozzle Communication or Power Interruption
Vacuum intermittently cuts out and shows E8 when tilting or moving the wand

Possible Causes
Loose wand electrical contacts, Damaged wiring harness in wand, Worn connector pins in floor nozzle, Cracked wand tube with broken internal conductors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Remove the battery before inspecting electrical connectors.
- Check wand connections: Detach the wand from both the main body and the floor nozzle. Inspect the electrical contacts at each end for bent pins, corrosion, or debris. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
- Test without the wand: Connect the floor nozzle directly to the main body (if your Progress model allows). If E8 disappears, the wand is likely faulty.
- Flex test: Reattach the wand and run the vacuum while gently flexing the wand along its length. If the vacuum cuts out or shows E8 when bent, the internal wiring harness is damaged.
- Replace the wand: Order a compatible Progress replacement wand/extension tube with integrated wiring. These are not usually repairable due to molded-in conductors.
- Inspect nozzle connector: If E8 persists even with a new wand, the floor nozzle connector or internal PCB may be defective and the nozzle assembly should be replaced.
