Brush Motor Overload / Brush Roll Jam
Cordless vacuum shows E4 and the brush head stops spinning while suction may continue

Possible Causes
Hair or string wrapped around brush roll, Foreign object jammed in floor head, Worn brush roll bearings, Faulty brush motor in floor head
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery pack before working on the floor head.
- Remove the brush roll: Flip the floor head over. Release the end cap or locking tabs and pull out the brush roll. Carefully cut away hair, threads, and fibers with scissors, avoiding the bristles.
- Check the end bearings: Spin each end of the brush roll by hand. If it feels rough, stiff, or seized, clean out debris and hair. If still stiff, the brush roll assembly should be replaced.
- Inspect the brush cavity: Look inside the floor head for coins, toys, or other objects blocking the brush. Remove any obstructions.
- Check the brush motor connection: Inspect the electrical contacts between the wand and floor head for bent pins or corrosion. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
- Test again: Reassemble the brush roll and reinstall the battery. Run the vacuum on low power first. If E4 returns immediately and the brush does not move, the brush motor or floor head PCB is likely faulty and may need replacement.
