Possible Causes

Defective mode button on handle, Moisture ingress into control panel, Damaged ribbon cable between display and main PCB, Firmware glitch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before working on the handle or control panel.

  • Power cycle: Remove the battery for 1 minute, then reinstall and try changing modes again.
  • Check for moisture: Inspect the control panel and display area for signs of condensation or liquid spills. If present, remove the battery and let the unit dry in a warm, dry room for 24 hours before retrying.
  • Clean buttons: Press the mode button repeatedly 20–30 times to help clear minor oxidation or debris under the switch.
  • Update firmware (if supported): If your Proscenic model supports app connectivity, check the app for firmware updates and apply them following the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • If F1 remains: The control panel PCB or main PCB may be defective and require replacement. This involves opening the handle and should be done by a qualified technician if you are not experienced.
