Possible Causes

Overheated battery pack, Faulty battery temperature sensor (NTC) inside pack, Charging in very hot or cold environment, Defective charger causing over‑temperature

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If the battery feels hot to the touch, remove it from the vacuum and place it on a non‑flammable surface to cool. Do not continue using a hot battery.

  • Allow cooling: Let the battery cool to room temperature (at least 30–60 minutes) before attempting to charge again.
  • Check charging environment: Charge only between 15–30°C. Avoid direct sunlight, heaters, or unheated garages in winter.
  • Inspect charger: Ensure the charger is not covered or placed on soft surfaces that block ventilation. Check for signs of damage (burn marks, melted plastic). Replace if damaged.
  • Retry charging: Once cooled, place the battery on the charger and monitor the first 10–15 minutes. If E6 or warning icons reappear, stop using the battery.
  • Service or replace: A persistent E6 usually indicates a faulty temperature sensor or internal battery fault. Replace the battery pack or have it inspected by an authorized Rowenta service center.
