Possible Causes
Faulty charging dock, Damaged charging contacts on vacuum, Open-circuit charger power supply, Loose internal wiring to charge port
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the charging dock or adapter from the mains before inspection.
Check the charging system:
- Inspect the charging contacts on the vacuum handle or battery for dirt or oxidation. Clean gently with a dry cloth or a cotton swab. Do not use water or solvents.
- Check the dock or wall charger contacts for bent pins or damage.
- Plug the charger into a known-good wall outlet. Verify that the charger indicator light (if present) turns on.
- Place the vacuum correctly on the dock, ensuring it is fully seated. Look for the charging indicator on the vacuum; if it does not light, try wiggling slightly to confirm contact.
- If possible, test with another compatible Russell Hobbs charger. If the vacuum charges with a different charger, replace the original dock or adapter.
- If no charger works and E6 persists, the internal charge port or main PCB may be faulty and require professional replacement.
Warning: Never attempt to open or repair the mains charger; replace it with an approved Russell Hobbs unit.
