Russell Hobbs
Ineffective Brush Agitation / Worn Brushroll
Vacuum leaves lines of debris behind and does not pick up well from carpets
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Worn brush bristles, Incorrect floorhead height setting (if adjustable), Blocked floorhead suction channel, Weak brushroll motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and remove the battery.
Improve pickup:
- Inspect the brushroll bristles. If they are worn down, uneven, or very soft, replace the brushroll.
- Check the floorhead for blockages in the suction channel behind the brushroll.
- Ensure the floorhead is set to the correct mode for carpet (if your model has a hard floor/carpet selector).
- Test the brushroll rotation on carpet; if it slows significantly or stops, the motor may be weak and the floorhead assembly should be replaced.
Warning: Using a worn brushroll can overwork the motor and reduce cleaning performance significantly.
