Russell Hobbs
Battery Voltage Sag / Protection Cut-Out
Vacuum shuts off after a few seconds with no error code and then restarts after a short wait
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Aged lithium-ion cells in battery pack, Battery not fully charged, Using MAX mode on a weak battery, High resistance at battery contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery.
Battery checks:
- Fully charge the battery on the original Russell Hobbs charger until the indicator shows complete charge.
- Clean the battery contacts and the mating contacts on the vacuum with a dry cloth.
- Test the vacuum on LOW or MEDIUM power. If it runs normally on low but cuts out quickly on MAX, the battery is likely worn.
- If available, test with a second compatible battery. If the problem disappears, replace the original battery pack.
- If the issue persists with multiple batteries, the main motor may be drawing excessive current and should be inspected by a technician.
Warning: Do not continue to cycle a failing battery; it can overheat and pose a safety risk.
