Safety first: Remove the battery. Do not bypass any thermal fuses.

Listen for motor: When trigger is pulled (with battery installed), if only lights/brush work and there is no motor sound at all, suspect a motor circuit issue.
Check for burning smell: A burnt odor from the motor vents suggests motor failure.
Inspect wiring (advanced users): If comfortable opening the housing, check that the motor wires are firmly connected to the control board and motor terminals.
Do not bypass safety devices: If a thermal fuse has opened, it indicates overheating; the motor assembly should be replaced, not bypassed.

Motor circuit faults generally require replacement of the motor assembly or control board by a qualified technician.

LED indicator shows a fan or motor icon with a red light; motor does not start but lights and brush may work.
