Possible Causes
Clogged main suction path, Blocked cyclonic separator in dust bin, Severely clogged pre-motor filter, Failing high-speed DC motor drawing excessive current
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack before disassembling any parts.
- Empty dust bin: Remove the dust canister and empty it completely. Tap gently to dislodge compacted debris.
- Check for clogs: Inspect the floor nozzle, extension wand, flexible hose, and inlet to the dust bin. Use a straight rod or coat hanger (with rounded end) to gently push out any blockages.
- Clean pre-motor filter: Remove the foam or fabric pre-motor filter (usually located above or behind the dust bin). Tap it outside to remove dust. If washable, rinse with cold water only and allow to dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling.
- Inspect motor sound: After reassembly and with a fully charged battery, run the vacuum. If it still shuts off quickly and the motor sounds strained, the motor may be failing and drawing too much current.
Persistent shutdowns after clearing all blockages indicate a failing motor or control board. In that case, contact a service technician for motor replacement.
