Possible Causes

Over-discharged Ryobi ONE+ battery pack, Overheated battery pack, Dirty or oxidized battery contacts, Internal battery BMS (Battery Management System) fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not attempt to open the battery pack. Use only Ryobi-approved chargers.

  • Cool the battery: If the pack feels warm, remove it from the vacuum and let it cool for 30 minutes before retrying.
  • Charge fully: Place the battery on a Ryobi ONE+ charger. If the charger shows an error (flashing red/green), the pack may be defective. If it charges normally, reinstall and test.
  • Clean contacts: Wipe the battery and vacuum contacts with a dry cloth. Remove any debris or corrosion.
  • Test with another pack: Use a known-good Ryobi ONE+ battery. If the vacuum works, replace the faulty battery pack.

If multiple good batteries all flash rapidly only when connected to this vacuum, the vacuum's internal electronics may be shorted and require professional service.
