Possible Causes

Faulty airflow or pressure sensor on PCB, Severely clogged HEPA filter, Dust packed around sensor port, Cracked or leaking cyclone housing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before cleaning filters or opening the cyclone assembly.

Restore normal airflow:

  • Empty bin and clean cyclone: Remove the dust container, empty it, and brush dust off the cyclone shroud and internal cones.
  • Clean all filters: Remove pre‑motor and HEPA filters. Tap off dust and rinse washable elements in lukewarm water if allowed. Air‑dry for 24 hours before refitting.
  • Check for cracks: Inspect the dust bin and cyclone housing for cracks or gaps that could cause air leaks and confuse the airflow sensor.

Sensor area:

  • Some Salter models have a small port or channel near the cyclone that feeds the airflow sensor. Gently clear any dust from this area with a soft brush or compressed air (short bursts only).

If E8 persists with clean filters and intact housings, the airflow sensor or associated circuitry on the main PCB is likely faulty. Replacement of the main control PCB is usually required.
