Possible Causes
Failed NTC temperature sensor inside battery pack, Broken sensor wiring to BMS, Battery pack overheated from recent heavy use, Using non‑genuine or incompatible battery
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack. If the pack feels hot, place it on a non‑flammable surface away from direct sunlight and allow it to cool completely.
Cooling and reset:
- Allow the battery to cool for at least 1 hour at room temperature.
- Refit the battery and try again. If E9 clears, avoid running the vacuum continuously on boost mode for long periods.
Check battery type and condition:
- Ensure you are using a genuine Salter battery pack specified for your model.
- Inspect the battery casing for swelling, cracks, or damage. Do not use a damaged pack.
If E9 persists even when the battery is cool and genuine, the internal temperature sensor or BMS is faulty. Replace the complete battery pack; do not attempt to open or repair the pack.
