Possible Causes

Misaligned dust bin, Faulty bin detection microswitch, Broken bin latch tab, Debris obstructing bin sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before inspecting the bin mechanism.

Check bin installation:

  • Remove the dust bin and refit it carefully, ensuring it clicks firmly into place and the latch is fully engaged.
  • Inspect the bin rim and latch for cracks or deformation that prevent proper seating.

Clean the sensor area:

  • Locate the small plastic tab or magnet on the bin that actuates the bin sensor or microswitch on the body.
  • Clean around this area with a dry cloth to remove dust that may prevent proper contact.

If F1 persists, the bin detection microswitch or sensor on the main body may be faulty or misaligned. Replacement of the switch or the front housing assembly may be required.
