Possible Causes
Hair and fibers wrapped around brush roll ends, Worn brush roll end bearings, Slipping or stretched drive belt, Worn gear in nozzle transmission
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Remove the battery and disconnect the floor nozzle before servicing.
- 1. Remove brush roll: Open the access cover and take out the brush roll.
- 2. Clean ends and bearings: Cut away hair and fibers from the ends. Remove end caps (if removable) and clean any debris from the bearing area.
- 3. Inspect bearings: Spin the brush roll by hand. If it feels rough or binds, replace the brush roll assembly with new bearings.
- 4. Check drive belt/gear: Open the side cover to inspect the belt or gear train. Replace any stretched, cracked, or missing belt. Check gears for worn or missing teeth.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the brush roll and test on a hard floor first. If noise or intermittent stopping persists, the nozzle motor may be weak and require replacement.
Regular cleaning of the brush roll prevents premature bearing and belt wear.
