Cordless vacuum displays E08 and will not charge when placed on the charging dock or connected to the charger.

Safety: Unplug the charger from the mains before inspecting the dock or contacts.

• 1. Check outlet and adapter: Plug another device into the same outlet to confirm power. Inspect the Siemens charger for damage to the cable or plug. If the charger LED does not light at all, the adapter may be faulty.
• 2. Inspect charging contacts: On both the dock and the battery/vacuum, inspect the metal contacts. Clean gently with a dry cloth. Ensure spring-loaded pins move freely and are not stuck.
• 3. Try direct charging (if supported): Some Siemens cordless vacuums allow direct plug-in charging. If dock charging fails but direct charging works, the dock is likely defective.
• 4. Test with another battery/charger: If available, test your battery on another Siemens charger, or test another known-good battery on your charger. This helps isolate whether the fault is in the charger, battery, or vacuum.
• 5. Inspect charging port/wiring: If the vacuum has a built-in charging port, check for looseness or damage. Internal wiring from the port to the battery terminals may be broken and require disassembly and repair.

If E08 persists and the battery never charges, replace the charger first. If a new charger does not resolve it, the battery pack or internal charging circuitry is likely defective.
