Possible Causes

Failed NTC temperature sensor on motor, Broken sensor wiring, Faulty temperature sensing circuit on main PCB, Sensor dislodged from motor housing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Remove the battery before opening the motor housing.

  • 1. Access motor area: Remove the dust bin and any covers to expose the motor housing. Carefully open the housing to locate the temperature sensor (usually a small probe or thermistor attached to the motor casing).
  • 2. Check sensor placement: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the motor body with its clip or thermal adhesive. Reattach if loose.
  • 3. Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires back to the main PCB. Look for breaks, pinched sections, or loose connectors. Reseat connectors.
  • 4. Visual check of PCB: Inspect the area of the PCB where the sensor connects for burnt or damaged components.
  • 5. Replace sensor or PCB: If wiring and placement are correct but E12 persists, replace the temperature sensor harness. If that does not resolve the issue, the main control PCB is likely faulty.

Because this sensor protects against overheating, do not bypass or short it; always repair or replace properly.
