Possible Causes
Faulty motor speed sensor (tachometer), Loose motor connector, Defective motor driver circuit on PCB, Damaged motor brushes (if brushed motor)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Remove the battery before accessing the motor or PCB.
- 1. Inspect motor connectors: Open the motor housing and check that all connectors are fully seated and free of corrosion.
- 2. Check for debris: Ensure no dust or debris is lodged around the motor speed sensor (if external) or PCB area.
- 3. Listen to motor: With the unit reassembled and battery installed, briefly run the vacuum. If you hear arcing, grinding, or irregular noises, the motor itself may be failing.
- 4. Replace motor assembly: If the motor shows signs of wear or the speed sensor is integrated into the motor, replace the entire motor assembly.
- 5. Replace main PCB: If a new motor does not resolve E13, the motor driver circuitry on the main PCB is likely defective and should be replaced.
Do not continue to use the vacuum with unstable motor speed, as it can lead to overheating or further damage.
