Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the charger from mains if the battery feels hot to the touch. Do not attempt to cool the battery rapidly (e.g., in a fridge).
- 1. Let the battery normalize: If you have just used the vacuum heavily, remove the battery and let it rest at room temperature for at least 30–60 minutes before charging.
- 2. Check ambient temperature: Ensure you are charging the SilverCrest vacuum within the recommended temperature range (typically 5–35°C). Move the charger to a cooler or warmer room if necessary.
- 3. Inspect vents: On dock-style chargers, make sure the vents are not blocked by dust or placed against a wall or fabric. Provide adequate airflow.
- 4. Try a different outlet: Plug the charger into another wall socket to rule out supply issues.
- 5. Test with another battery/charger: If possible, test a different compatible SilverCrest battery on the same charger, or your battery on another charger. This helps identify whether the pack or charger is faulty.
If E7 persists with a cool battery and known-good charger, the internal temperature sensor in the battery pack is likely defective and the pack should be replaced.
