Possible Causes

Clogged floor head causing motor overload, Shorted main motor in motorized brush head, Damaged wiring harness between battery and main PCB, Faulty current sensor on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the vacuum OFF and remove the battery pack or disconnect from the charger. Avoid running the unit repeatedly while it is tripping protection.

  • 1. Check for blockages: Remove the dust bin, extension tube, and motorized floor head. Look through the wand and air paths for clogs (hair, debris, toys). Clear all obstructions.
  • 2. Inspect the brush roll: Flip the TCL motorized floor head over. Remove the brush roll cover (usually a latch or a few screws). Cut away hair and threads from the roller and end caps. Ensure the roller spins freely by hand.
  • 3. Test without the floor head: Attach only the main body and run the vacuum in standard mode. If E2 does not appear, the issue is likely in the motorized floor head or wand wiring.
  • 4. Inspect wiring: Check the electrical contacts at the neck of the floor head and at the base of the wand for bent pins, burn marks, or looseness. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
  • 5. Try lower power mode: If your TCL model has multiple power levels, test in ECO/low mode. Persistent E2 even at low load suggests a failing motor or control board.

Service recommendation: If E2 continues after clearing all blockages and testing without the floor head, the main suction motor or the floor head motor may be drawing excessive current. Replace the affected motorized floor head assembly or main motor assembly, or have a technician test the main PCB current sensor.
