Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum, remove the battery, and allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before handling internal parts.
- 1. Empty the dust bin: Remove the dust container and empty it completely. Tap gently to dislodge fine dust from the cyclone shroud.
- 2. Clean pre-motor filter: Locate the pre-motor filter (usually foam or fabric inside the dust bin area). Remove and tap it outdoors. If washable per TCL manual, rinse with lukewarm water only, then air-dry for 24 hours before reinstalling.
- 3. Clean HEPA/post-motor filter: Access the rear or top filter housing. Remove the HEPA cartridge and tap gently to remove dust. If TCL specifies it as washable, rinse carefully and let it dry completely. Never reinstall a damp filter.
- 4. Check airflow path: Inspect the wand, floor head, and all inlets for clogs. Remove any obstructions.
- 5. Ventilation check: Ensure the motor exhaust vents on the main body are not blocked by your hand during use or by dust buildup. Clean vents with a soft brush.
After cleaning: Reassemble the vacuum with completely dry filters and try again in a lower power mode first. If E3 recurs quickly with clean filters and clear airflow, the main motor's thermal protector may be tripping due to internal motor failure. In that case, the main motor assembly should be replaced by a qualified technician.
