Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the vacuum OFF and remove it from the charging base. Detach the battery pack if it is removable. Never work on the brush head while the unit is powered.
- Remove the brush head: Press the release button and detach the floor head from the wand or main body.
- Access the brush roller: Open the brush cover (usually a side latch or bottom cover). Carefully lift out the brush roller.
- Clear obstructions: Use scissors to cut away hair, threads, and fibers from the roller and end caps. Check the suction channel in the floor head for toys, gravel, or other blockages.
- Inspect bearings and end caps: Spin the brush roller by hand. If it feels rough, seized, or noisy, the end bearings may be worn and the roller should be replaced.
- Check for motor overheating: Smell for burnt odor near the brush motor area. If the motor housing is discolored or smells burnt, the brush motor may be damaged.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the brush roller, close the cover securely, and reattach the head. Allow the unit to cool for 30 minutes, then power on and test. If E1 returns immediately with a free-spinning roller, the brush motor assembly likely needs replacement.
If you are not comfortable opening the brush head further to access the motor, contact a qualified service technician.
