Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents around motor, Operating with wet filters, Prolonged use on MAX power without airflow, Failing thermal sensor on motor assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery. Do not attempt to bypass any thermal or safety devices.
- Allow full cooldown: Leave the vacuum powered off in a cool, dry place for at least 1 hour to allow the thermal protector to reset.
- Check filters for moisture: Remove all filters. If they feel damp or cool, they are not fully dry. Allow them to air dry for at least 24 hours.
- Inspect cooling vents: Examine all air vents around the motor housing and body. Use a soft brush to remove lint and dust buildup.
- Verify airflow: Ensure the dust bin, wand, and floor head are not blocked. A restricted airflow can cause overheating even with clean filters.
- Test on low power first: Reinstall dry filters and battery. Run the vacuum on the lowest power setting for several minutes. If E4 appears quickly, the thermal sensor or motor windings may be failing and require professional replacement.
