Possible Causes

Failed Hall effect sensor in nozzle, Damaged sensor wiring, Magnet missing or displaced on brushroll, Nozzle PCB failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the motorized nozzle.

  • Step 1 – Inspect brushroll magnet: Many Toshiba nozzles use a small magnet on the brushroll for speed sensing. Remove the brushroll and look for a small embedded magnet or metal strip. If missing or loose, replace the brushroll.
  • Step 2 – Check wiring: Inspect the wiring harness inside the nozzle for breaks, especially near moving joints. If wires are cut or frayed, the nozzle assembly should be replaced.
  • Step 3 – Test with another nozzle: If you have a second compatible motorized head, attach it and test. If F1 disappears, the original nozzle’s sensor or PCB is faulty.

When to call a technician: Replacing the Hall sensor or PCB inside the nozzle requires fine soldering and is usually not user‑serviceable. Replace the entire motorized nozzle or have a technician repair it.
