F3
Toshiba
Battery Capacity / Cell Imbalance Fault
Vacuum shows F3; runtime is extremely short and unit may shut off abruptly

Possible Causes
Aged or worn lithium‑ion cells, Internal cell imbalance detected by BMS, Repeated deep discharges, Storage at high temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to open the battery pack. Damaging lithium‑ion cells can cause fire or injury.
- Step 1 – Perform a full charge: Charge the battery uninterrupted until the charger indicates full. Leave it on the charger for an additional 30–60 minutes to allow cell balancing (if supported by the BMS).
- Step 2 – Avoid turbo mode: Test the vacuum in normal or eco mode only. If runtime is still very short (e.g., under 3–5 minutes), the pack is likely at end of life.
- Step 3 – Try a second battery: If available, test with another Toshiba battery. If the second pack works normally, replace the original battery.
When to call a technician: F3 indicates the battery pack is no longer healthy. Replace it with a genuine Toshiba pack. If a new pack also shows F3, the BMS communication or main PCB may be faulty and needs professional diagnosis.
