Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn OFF the vacuum, remove the battery, and allow it to cool. Do not continue using the unit until the cause is identified.
- Step 1 – Inspect brushroll: Remove the brushroll and clear all hair and debris. Check that it spins freely.
- Step 2 – Check for melted plastic: Look for melted areas around the nozzle or brushroll ends. If present, replace the brushroll and possibly the nozzle housing.
- Step 3 – Clean filters and vents: Ensure all filters and vents are clean to prevent motor overheating.
If the burning smell comes from the motor housing and persists after cleaning, the motor may be failing and should be replaced by a technician.
