Possible Causes

Shorted motor winding, Short in wiring harness, Internal BMS fault, Liquid damage inside battery contacts

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack immediately. Do not continue trying to power the unit. If you smell burning or feel excessive heat, move the vacuum to a non-flammable surface and monitor.

  • Visual inspection: Check the battery contacts and mating contacts on the vacuum body for signs of arcing, corrosion, or moisture. Do not use if there is visible burning or melting.
  • Dry any moisture: If the vacuum was exposed to liquid, leave it disassembled (battery removed) in a dry, ventilated area for at least 48 hours. Do not use heat sources like hair dryers.
  • Isolate components: If possible, test the battery on another compatible Xiaomi cordless vacuum, or test a known-good battery on this vacuum. This helps identify whether the fault is in the battery or the main unit.
  • Do not bypass BMS: Never attempt to bridge battery terminals or open the battery pack. If the battery repeatedly triggers overcurrent protection, replace the battery pack.
  • If new battery also fails: The main motor or internal wiring harness may be shorted. In that case, the main body assembly or motor module should be replaced by a qualified technician.
